Breanne Pierce is knee deep in balls. On top of being downright adorable, her snackalicious energy balls are gluten, dairy, and refined sugar free, and our favourite nosh before and after workouts. Kiss your hangry ways goodbye with these guilt-free bad boys.
3. Chic Shack – Thrift and Consignment Store
We met Anny Finley and her lovely sisters at a Stampede soirée. For Lori, a consignment queen, it was love at first sight. Val ran shrieking “start the car” after scoring two like-new hand bags. Anny sells a variety of middle to high end designer pieces via Instagram from her Elbow Valley home.
4. Tresa Gibson Fine Art
After charming us with her live paintings at the Ovarian Cancer Lady Ball, we’ve watched Tresa’s career blossom. Her vibrant florals remind us to live life in full bloom, inspiring Val and Ken to commission a painting for their 25th wedding anniversary. For a visual feast for your eyes, follow this gal!
5. Twigz Pretzels
The trouble with Twigz is the bag isn’t bottomless! These perfectly seasoned pretzels (only 100 calories per serving) are addictive AF, so when Val couldn’t find them, this family owned business dropped a bag at her door! You may have to scour the grocery store aisles, but these salty snacks are worth it.
6. Boutique Nine
Do your boobs hang low, do they wobble to and fro? Bra specialists and owners Vicky and Stephanie fit our birds into cages perfectly on the first try! Boutique Nine offers private parties (which we’ve done – super fun), steam every clothing item, and sanitize dressing rooms after use. Screw Christmas gifts, treat yourself to something pretty!
7. Jessica Jantzen – Love For Lewiston
After losing their sweet baby Lewiston to Spinal Muscular Dystrophy, Jessica dedicates her life to spreading joy, creating awareness, and inspiring others. The foundation is working toward its $1 million dollar goal, so if you love clothing made with heart, Jessica’s apparel and breathtaking book “Bring The Joy” are for you.
8. It’s Vintage YYC
As modern day treasure hunters, Anna-Marie and Kate know where the good shit is. For example, Val didn’t know she needed a penguin ice bucket, but the girls did! We’re particularly drawn to the vintage stemware (no surprise there). Check out their Etsy shop for unique gifts.
9. Lauren Billey – Photography
Over the lockdown, the Sisters took an online photography course with this spitfire, instantly connecting with her open and honest enthusiasm. Based in Claresholm, Lauren is a BUSY mom of three, running multiple businesses, specializing in maternity, newborn, and wedding photography. Because those Christmas photos aren’t taking themselves!
10. Swift Shoe
Amy Tynning is the third generation owner of Swift Shoe (and our best friend’s daughter). Based in our home town of Swift Current, our No. 1 shoe store has a fab online platform (shipping only $5). We love the Glerup slippers so much, we’d marry them. Running a close second are the finger mitts with a built-in gloved liner. Your hands and feet will thank you!
