The Sisters 2021 Local Gift Guide

Turns out 2021 was as elfed up as 2020, but have no fear. A new year is around the corner, and we’re lit with holiday cheer. Check out our favourite local joy spreaders for gift giving ideas!

HER VOICE BOOKS

Hark the herald, sisters sing! The “Her Voice” books embody the sweet sound of women empowering other women. And we’re published in all three books! Homegirls from around the globe belt out real, vulnerable, and funny short stories in Sisterhood, Motherhood, and Finding Yourself.

Order on Amazon or contact us for local delivery (minimum 3 books).

SALT AND LIME CLOTH BAR

Are you there God? It’s me Margarita! Initially drawn to Dena and Kristen’s saucy moniker, it was their passion for fashion that shone through. Helping women feel awesome from the inside out, that’s what salty bitches are all about. Online shopping may not solve our problems, but it’s worth a shot!

JOLIE POP

If you’re looking for a local mom and pop-corn shop, look no further than Jolie Pop. Arguably the best hostess/teacher gift ever, Kelley Abbey’s gourmet truffle popcorn kits pair perfectly with ice cold sparkling wine. Proving life is both salty and sweet.

SISTERS’ STORY COFFEE

Coffee, the liquid hug for your brain. Sisters’ Story beans are grown on farms owned and operated by indigenous women in northern Peru. What’s more, 15% of sales are donated to women’s shelters and sexual assault crisis centres in Canada. A perfect way to say I love you a latte!

CITY & COUNTRY Urban Winery & Tasting Bar

We were flabbergasted to learn #yyc welcomed its first urban winery in Feb 2020 (ruh-roh)…which we knew nothing about! Immediately intrigued, we beelined for the nectar. Owner Chris Fodor is passionate about all things wine, and giving back to the community. If you’re dreaming of a white (or red) Christmas, consider this your new clubhouse!

MY PERSONAL CONCIERGE

A concierge is as helpful as an extra set of hands, only less creepy! Jenn Rowles is a crackerjack at transforming chaos into calm, one task at a time. Jenn tackles to-do lists, home organization and decluttering (virtual and IRL) like a boss. Housework won’t kill you, but why take the chance?
